the basics

So the spirits decided to throw you a party; a feast, in fact. Cool! But then everyone who ate it suddenly collapsed, and now it's just you and a bunch of other confused (and probably still hungry) people with no idea what's happening. Are the feasters dead, or just unconscious? And what was in that food? Unfortunately, there's no time to stop and figure it out.

Almost immediately after the mass-fainting, a sharp rustling begins to echo from all around. Spirits, an army of them, creep purposefully out of the trees. And they aren't the friendly ones who made you all this dinner, either; instead it's those infamous green-eyed spirits, but more than just the one that plagued the last big feast in Beacon— (maybe you guys just shouldn't have parties? just saying)— this time there's more of them. A lot more.

Their exact intentions are unclear, but one thing's for sure: they do not come in peace. Over the next two weeks, these spirits will attack the town and everyone in it, using an arsenal of potent psychic abilities and the spirits' particularly unsettling flavor of physical violence. So grab that comatose body next to you and book it to the nearest safe space, or grab a weapon and get to fighting. It's time to defend the town!

the details

Starting on November 16th, the green-eyed spirits will launch an all-out assault on the citizens of Beacon. Their tactics will include not only their trademark induced hallucinations and general mind games, but physical violence as well. They seem to have recruited— or otherwise coerced— some of the forest's more dangerous inhabitants to their cause, and as a whole they will stop at nothing to accomplish their goal. Whatever that might be. Are they trying to kill you all? Just trying to scare you and going too far? Or is there something else sinister going on? Whatever the case may be, here are a few things you should know about the event itself:

• The attacking spirits will not be frightened away or otherwise diverted from their onslaught of their own free will. As a result, the attack will last the entire duration of the event. Get ready for the long haul, everybody!


• Characters may form groups to fight together (and, in practice, thread together against the spirits). These groups can consist of no more than 4 members, as any higher number would make threads unwieldy.


• Outside of the threads against spirits, characters are welcome to thread with those not in their chosen groups at their leisure.


• Characters can also go solo, naturally.


• Please report any formed groups in the appropriate place below. Your character won't have to spend every waking moment with these folks, but they will be fighting alongside them, so choose wisely!


• Mod responses (playing the attacking spirits) will come readily to threads that request it or that are obviously geared toward fighting the spirits, but beware: the attacking spirits may appear suddenly in any thread on the event log.


• Characters may alter the setting by building structures to better defend the town. Report any defenses constructed in the appropriate place below.


• Additional things to report include any property destruction, permanent injuries, or deaths.


• The reporting threads on this post will be used throughout the event! Anything not reported here will NOT count as game canon.

Personally, I'm up for either. Crowley will be patrolling/watching/pining over Aziraphale the whole time he's asleep, only taking breaks when he knows Bucky is watching him.

they really do!!! maybe they can team up for a supply run or do a patrol the town of some kind? bucky will probably be the first person javert goes to for anything since he follows orders well and is extremely capable.

ooooh yes, that would be good. By now Cao Pi has certainly made a point to actually make good on that suggestion that they spar. He's a little flashy but very good with those double blades.

eta: would you rather a special thread in the monster section for the two of them? to specifically get NPC attention vs just doing whatever we do in a fight thread.

plans: I expect her to be part of the group at the Invincible as ya know. That's home. She's also going to be concerned about protecting their supplies so I'd be keen to either defend the general store OR more likely, have a group that goes to try and gather as much as they can. Also Teenage Rampage Team will be a thing.
notes: Honestly, Allie has no business being a Defender. That said she's scrappy AF and doesn't scare easily.

plans: Open to plans! I don't think Misty will be lingering with any one place or group, and however reluctant she'll be, I'd hopefully like to wring a little new cr out of this? Her pool of contacts consists of like...three people, and that could do with a shake-up. She'll be finally openly using fun witch powers which she's largely left unmentioned in favor of presenting as a Wholly Normal Harmless Person :), so her offensive abilities are a lot better than you'd initially expect and there's healing to boot. She has no goals except Not Dying.

supply run or patrol would work. patrols are going to be kind of limited to "search and rescue" rather than "circle the perimeter" unless there's a slow day, but that's absolutely a thing Javert could come along with/take point on

plans: This event will actually be an eye-opener for her about the spirits. With Crowley's help, she can now fly and she's a marksman so she'll try and fight from a distance. After helping Crowley get settled in Invincible, she can try and go fetch anyone that is in trouble over the course of the week.

I also want her to get either extremely injured or die at some point (maybe towards the end of the event), so that's a little warning.
