Player Plot: Eleven Days of Christmas (aka Secret Santa/Stockings)
Hello fellow Beaconites!
This is Inky, coming to you with a bit of a Player Plot. I like to think of it as "Eleven Days of Christmas" because I Am Like That, but it's really a cute lil' Secret Santa/Stockings event for everyone, regardless of holiday celebrated (please forgive Eleven for only knowing Christmas, she is innocent and uneducated).
As you might have heard in THIS Network Post, Eleven would really like to bring some cheer and nice things back to Beacon after the harrowing events of last month's event, and for that purpose is proposing the slightly falsely named "Santa's Secret Game".
You want to make the traumatized 14 year old who only ever had that one (1) chance to celebrate the holidays
happy - right?
Eleven Days of Christmas - aka Santa's Secret Game - aka Secret Santa
In the coming in game days, Eleven is gonna wander around Beacon and approach every single character in this game with stacks of small pieces of paper, as well as a big gift bag, asking for names, likes/dislikes and the network name. If you haven't talked to her on the Network already, she will then proceed to pitch Secret Santa to you. After your sign up, she will make the rounds again a while later and lets everyone draw a name from the bagto determine who their gift recipient is.
Feel free to utterly handwave the signup process. If you think your character would not sign up of their own volition, you could handwave their CR pestering them to join in on the fun, or handwave Eleven making sad eyes that can't be resisted, or you could submit your character and just pretend they don't know who might have signed them up but now they just feel so gosh dang obligated. The reason is totally up to you, as it's an uncomplicated OOC sign up - so feel free to find any good ol' excuse to have your character's sign up paper end up in Eleven's gift bag.
OOC Time Line
- You will have until December 12, 11:59pm PST / UTC -8 to sign up OOCly via this post. Comments are screened to allow for maximum OOC secrecy about participants.
- I will then match everyone up with a gift recipient, and PM everyone their recipient's details as per the form below. This means ICly and OOCly, every gift giver knows whom they're gifting something to, but the gift recipients at this point do not know who might give *them* a gift.
- You will have until December 19, 11:59pm PST / UTC -8 to submit your gift. This means you can use the Night Market as a shopping source, or to ICly craft something, and in general just come up with a gift for your Secret Santa recipient, and gives me a few buffer days until the Feast of Lights in case someone's gift falls through.
- To be determined: Either shortly before or during the Feast of Light, a list with "gift giver -> gift -> gift recipient" is going to go up, and you can feel free to thread out characters reaching out to thank each other in whatever fashion you wish,either in the gift-reveal thread, or during the Feast of Light, or after, or you can handwave, or create plurk emotes, or whatever suits your needs <3

If you want to thread something out with Eleven or anyone else in the game pestering you, that can absolutely be done, but lack of a concrete reason shouldn't discourage you from signing up <3
