The nature of Sora's memory regains means that he'll get them back - like for real in his head - if he sees something similar or identical to the situation he experienced in the past! Sora will realize very quickly that he'll never find all of his own memories in the jumble due to there being like... hundreds of them... So he'll ask to see some of Riku's memories that he'd be okay with sharing!
