Quentin is... less than enthusiastic about Fillory? Or, no. He loves it for several reasion, but!
The Author that he loved, and who wrote the Fillory books and those books saved Quentin's life when he was a teenager and depressed- that author, turned out to be a child-molesting bag of dicks. A story-stealing, bag of dicks, because it turns out he was just writing down what the Chatwin kids told him about the real Fillory.
Real Fillory, was also a let down. Since, well. The Twin Gods of Fillory, Ember and Umber, thought that the victim (who fled to Fillory to get away from Plover and the abuse) was too boring when he was traumatizes and banned him from ever entering Fillory again. Leaving Martin to fend off Plover while his siblings got to frolic around in Fillory.
All of it turned out to be a shit-show and Quentin describes it as: “I got my heart's desire, and there my troubles began.”
BUT there are happy memories about learning about Fillory, before he learns about all that other stuff. About seeing the magical enchanted land of his dreams for the first time. I can write those? And about the talking bunnies. There's also centaurs?
