quietly laughs there's a fantastic issue from jms' run actually called "the conversation" that i would
love to be able to use for this, but THANKS TO ONE MORE DAY that no longer exists.
but yeah, no, this definitely helps! there are definitely a whole host of peter/mj moments that fit that bill, simply due to the fact that mj knows peter's spider-man. obviously one of the first for peter himself would be mj revealing that she knew he was spider-man and had for years, which definitely signified a turning point in their relationship; otherwise the proposal and (thanks to omd) failed attempt at actually getting married; the aftermath of that — as much as i personally detest one moment in time, it's probably a pretty good fit for this as it revolves around peter and mj discussing the way their engagement/marriage/relationship fell apart and how peter's dedication to being/obsession with being spider-man affected their relationship.
a third option would be back in black, which deals with the fallout from civil war and peter's decision to side with tony wrt the superhero registration act, and the way that may getting shot impacts peter, his relationship with mj, and his general approach towards being spider-man and what that means to him, but i'd actually have to re-read omd for this because some of it has been... retconned...
in theory, there are more ~~significant memories featuring the two that technically still took place despite omd, but they're a little harder to actualise given the way that omd affected the marriage.
given their cr, i think something revolving around OMD/OMIT could be interesting?
