Hello again, everyone!

First of all, as a team we want to thank you for the amazing reception that this game has had. What an incredible first week it's been! Thank you all for your enthusiasm, friendliness, and above all your collective urge to help this game reach its best potential. Due to your support and suggestions, we've been hard at work implementing a variety of updates that will be going live in the immediate future.

To start, here's what's available now:
  • A forest spirit writeup has been added to the NPC page! This should give everyone a more clear idea on the sort of creatures they can expect to find within confines of the game's setting.

  • The map has been recolored and updated for readability based on the suggestions and input of several players. A full key has also been added with a guide to the different markings visible on the map.

  • An item list has been created as a guide to what characters can or can't find in the general store. This list can be found through the setting and item request pages.

  • An IC weekly bulletin will be posted every Monday as a means of keeping all players (and characters) up to date on the current goings-on! This should serve as a quick, short-term supplement to the game history page, which will be updated less frequently as major developments are made within the plot of the game. This bulletin may also contain various hints as to what other avenues of exploration are available, so be sure to keep an eye out!

In addition, we're still in the process of working on the following:
  • A mobile friendly community layout, so the game can be accessed by anyone on-the-go.

  • A compilation of information that will be made available on the game history page.

  • Further detail on the setting page that accounts for the general area as well as simply the specific locations. We hope this will provide a better picture of Beacon as a whole.

These are changes that we expect to be live soon. For now, we just want everyone to know that the feedback has been heard! Thank you so much for your patience while we continue to make these a reality!

Finally, we want to close this off with just a few reminders and announcements that will be important to note for the rest of this inaugural month of July. If you haven't already, or even if you think you have, please double check to make sure you've replied to all of the list pages linked within your acceptance notice! We're still waiting on seven players to reply to one or more of the following: player contact, network id, and housing. Even if your character isn't going to be claiming a room in The Invincible, please still reply to the housing post letting us know that they're choosing alternate arrangements! If you're still planning on hashing out further CR before committing, keep in mind that housing doesn't have to be permanent--there are still several open rooms and players open to having roommates.

Aside from that, we wanted to give everyone a heads up that despite being the game's opening month, Activity Check will be functioning like normal with one exception: comments will not be counted. Just providing any proof of activity will be enough to pass! Additionally, please remember that we will not be providing a warning list for AC. If you forget to comment before the cutoff, you will be swept, so remember to jump on it as soon as you can!

With that, we just have one more issue we'd like to address. Particularly within the discord server, we've been fielding a lot of questions over specific subjects that may have been unclear or lacking in their descriptions on the appropriate game pages. If you feel that any of the information currently provided could still use further elaboration, please do feel free to let us know so we can fix the issue! From this point forward, however, we plan to begin directing people to the pages were we believe the answer to their question can already found. We think this will save everyone time and confusion! If there are any concerns about this, we're happy to hear you out, so don't hesitate to speak your mind.

Hello everyone! A couple (related) announcements!

Firstly, as some of you may have heard, we've been discussing raising the game cap incrementally in the coming months. For now, we've decided to start small, but we will be increasing the game cap to 60 players for next month's app round.

Secondly, in order to keep up with things now that the game is growing, we've taken on two Auxiliary Mods. They'll be responsible for some of the day-to-day, behind-the-scenes work for the game. So everyone please welcome Kit and Danielle to the mod team!

As a side note, Mippins and Leu are still responsible for plot, explorations, and NPCs, so any questions about those sorts of things should still be directed to them.

If you have any questions, you can ask them below!

Hi there players! Since we're waiting on a couple of acceptances notices to go out yet, we've decided to post the intro log tomorrow (July 2) at noon EST! All of the acceptance stuff will be finished by then.

When the intro log goes up, you'll also be able to claim housing! Please keep in mind that in the current available housing, there's only 20 one-bedroom "apartments", meanwhile there's 51 characters. Suffice to say, the housing situation will be a little nuts in the first couple weeks of the game, and tomorrow will lightly result in a mad dash to grab a room.

We know this will probably be a bit stressful, but please try not to worry too much! You'll likely discover more housing options soon, and if nothing else, here's a little list of alternative options to claiming a room in the Invincible:

  • You can set up camp somewhere in town/in the forest nearby (though we wouldn't suggest venturing too far into the trees for housing purposes!).
  • You can list your character as nomadic! Sleeping is optional, mostly, and while you still have to register this on the housing page, wandering around is a valid decision.
  • You can claim a little nook in other available locations, such as the general store or town hall.

It's also worth noting that the rooms in the Invincible may have extra furniture, as so many of you took advantage of in the TDM! If you want to assume your character pilfers/is given a mattress, some cushions, a rug/curtains for building a tent, etc., you're welcome to do so. The best way to survive in this game is to work together, after all.

Housing claims will be registered on a first come, first serve basis. Also, we may shift requested room numbers around a little bit if folks try to claim the same room at the same time.

That's all for now. Please shoot us any questions you have below, and feel free to use this page for OOC roommate plotting as well! Thanks everyone!
