Killing a favorite who came back later... That could be so many people because yes, the show is batshit insane when it comes to deaths and crazy plot twists. Trying to properly describe it to someone is a real trip.

Oh Matt, I adore him and so will Elena. She could honestly use someone to look out for her, she never has done a very good job of it herself.

HAHA THATS SUPER FAIR. my fave was alaric tho. i quit when he died and not even he could call me back. there are some developments in later seasons i super didn't wanna watch anyway so i'm at peace with that decision

Oh Ric. That's a totally legit reason to ragequit the show. He definitely went on a crazy ride over the years and his later plots were never as good as the first few seasons.
