EVENT INFO: ENTER MR. SANDMAN (DEFENDERS)

EVENT INFO: ENTER MR. SANDMAN
DEFENDERS
the basics
So the spirits decided to throw you a party; a feast, in fact. Cool! But then everyone who ate it suddenly collapsed, and now it's just you and a bunch of other confused (and probably still hungry) people with no idea what's happening. Are the feasters dead, or just unconscious? And what was in that food? Unfortunately, there's no time to stop and figure it out.
Almost immediately after the mass-fainting, a sharp rustling begins to echo from all around. Spirits, an army of them, creep purposefully out of the trees. And they aren't the friendly ones who made you all this dinner, either; instead it's those infamous green-eyed spirits, but more than just the one that plagued the last big feast in Beacon— (maybe you guys just shouldn't have parties? just saying)— this time there's more of them. A lot more.
Their exact intentions are unclear, but one thing's for sure: they do not come in peace. Over the next two weeks, these spirits will attack the town and everyone in it, using an arsenal of potent psychic abilities and the spirits' particularly unsettling flavor of physical violence. So grab that comatose body next to you and book it to the nearest safe space, or grab a weapon and get to fighting. It's time to defend the town!
the details
Starting on November 16th, the green-eyed spirits will launch an all-out assault on the citizens of Beacon. Their tactics will include not only their trademark induced hallucinations and general mind games, but physical violence as well. They seem to have recruited— or otherwise coerced— some of the forest's more dangerous inhabitants to their cause, and as a whole they will stop at nothing to accomplish their goal. Whatever that might be. Are they trying to kill you all? Just trying to scare you and going too far? Or is there something else sinister going on? Whatever the case may be, here are a few things you should know about the event itself:
- The attacking spirits will not be frightened away or otherwise diverted from their onslaught of their own free will. As a result, the attack will last the entire duration of the event. Get ready for the long haul, everybody!
- Characters may form groups to fight together (and, in practice, thread together against the spirits). These groups can consist of no more than 4 members, as any higher number would make threads unwieldy.
- Outside of the threads against spirits, characters are welcome to thread with those not in their chosen groups at their leisure.
- Characters can also go solo, naturally.
- Please report any formed groups in the appropriate place below. Your character won't have to spend every waking moment with these folks, but they will be fighting alongside them, so choose wisely!
- Mod responses (playing the attacking spirits) will come readily to threads that request it or that are obviously geared toward fighting the spirits, but beware: the attacking spirits may appear suddenly in any thread on the event log.
- Characters may alter the setting by building structures to better defend the town. Report any defenses constructed in the appropriate place below.
- Additional things to report include any property destruction, permanent injuries, or deaths.
- The reporting threads on this post will be used throughout the event! Anything not reported here will NOT count as game canon.
Additionally, players are welcome to use this post for OOC event plotting! In fact, please do, as not everyone in the game has access to each other's plurks! If you'd like, you can use the small form below to kickstart your plotting plans:

character(s): Quentin Coldwater
plans: Quentin is going to be in Grand Portal #5 with a sleeping Eliot when all this starts. He’s also going to try search the nearest cabins, maybe venturing out a little to see if anyone needs help / sleepers stuck in cabins without guardians. He has a bow and arrows, a torch and his magic. Depending on how maybe sleepers he manages to round up, that would mean if he stays put or if it’s just Eliot, try to get to bonfire square while also carrying a huge person around.
Open for help, cooperation and as the days drag on, food. Supplies. Reinforcements. Company.
notes: I’d like for Quentin not to just get stuck in the cabins on his own? Small groups or help getting to either the armoury or the invincible would be lovely. Quentin knows a shitton of battlemagic and he’s pretty good with a bow and arrow.

Either way, we can def work something out to get Eliot to shelter one way or another!

Nov 16 - Dreamers fall asleep at midnight.
Nov 17 - Quentin can't wake Eliot up, freaks out, spirits might attack? Jon Snow is this us finding each other and protecting our sleeping cabin mates?
Nov 18/19 - Plans about staying in the cabin(s) not being the best choice. Maybe there's call for help on the network, maybe Jon and Quentin want to move locations to more people since keeping guard all day long with just two people are impossible? Anyone want to come to them by the cabins?
Nov 19/20 - Slowly moving from point A to safer location B. Quentin will want the Armory. Jon? Maybe split up? Since the attacks keep coming - anyone want to tag in and help move two sleepers? Jason? He's good at planning stuff!
Nov 20/21 - on the road. The distance in miles isn't long, but if there's near constant attacks, it's going to take more than a day to move. I'm okay with getting caught on the road and being forced to stay for a while. Anyone want in? Cao Pi? Trapped, backs against the trees and ice attacks?
Nov 21/22/23 - Moving past the bonfire square on the way to the Armory. Maybe temp refuge at general store? Stock up on food and arrows / weapon? Ambrose? Wanna meet up and figure out how to get past the mess and to the armory? Stay for a while, help defend everyone else? Use the power of Taylor Swift to keep morals up? Anyone want to help here?
Nov 24/25/26 - On the road again. There's a long dark road between the bon fire square and the Armory. M.K.? Want to help carry Eliot? Smash and pound some spirits with me? Quentin has a magical shield! That will run low on juice pretty fast, but...
26/27/ end of event - At the armory. Riku? Want to make a last stand with Quentin here and with everyone else that's been gathering up by the invisible building and the weapons?

This timeline looks good, the location of our last stand could be wherever the most people are or what needs protecting (if it's the armory, cool!) This assumes Riku survives that long (I have no idea what injuries Riku might get) but other than the various unpredictable parts I'm down for this!
EDIT SORRY it does look like a lot of people are interested in sticking to the Invincible, so that might throw a slight wrench in that Riku will prioritize defense in order of: where most of his friends are, followed by where most of the people are.

If we're flexible with location, though, once we see what shakes out a little more we can totally figure out a way to get the boys together one way or another!
