hey! i don't know if you want to go down this path, but i want to make sure you know that it's out there just in case you want to take it or avoid it!

skyler has a very concrete reason to want riku either dead or very very hurt! while sora's been cool with trying to feel out vanitas and giving riku his space, once skyler understands the situation and knows riku's somewhere close, he'll probably take steps to at least track him down. if this is something you want to play out, let me know! otherwise, i'll go ahead and say that sora catches skyler at it and takes steps to make sure riku's safe.
