MOD ANNOUNCEMENT
Hey there, everyone. Mippins here.
I'm deeply sad to announce that due to some personal things that have come up rather suddenly, I'm not in a position where I can continue to mod for you all, and thus In the Night will have to close. I hate that it's come to this, but I don't see another way forward and I think it's best to make this call now than to struggle along and see the game die slowly.
As for the logistics, we'll open the game comms so that anyone who wishes may continue to use the game as a sandbox. The game pages will be left as they are, and nothing will be deleted. You're all welcome to do what's best for yourselves in deciding what happens to characters and such from here on out.
I want to thank all of you for being part of this game and for building up such a strong sense of community within the playerbase. You're all hands down the best playerbase I've ever encountered, and I'm sorry to let you down like this. I'm not feeling especially eloquent right now, but I hope you all know that I don't make this decision lightly. I love this game, I've loved telling this story with you all, and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to mod for you all for as long as I have.
It's truly been a pleasure flying with you, players. Please take care of yourselves and stay healthy, and I hope that I'll have the pleasure of playing with you again sometime.

Though my heart hurts that this amazing game has to close, the fact this game existed - and I was lucky enough to experience it with you all from day one, when I learned about it from Eon - is amazing and something I'm forever grateful for.
My time here in In The Night is one of my happiest and best experiences in a game as a player. The effort put into the plot and the effort in exploring the plot is amazing and I appreciated the way you guys, as mods, let us run wild at times with what we did. Your willingness to engage with the players' actions and ideas, making their actions feel significant in their own way, is something I'm forever grateful for. Even during the rockier months and moments we had, you did your best to make sure we had a good time and made us feel like we were contributing in our own way. It really did feel like we were helping shape the game, change events, and do things outside the box.
To the mods:
Thank you for everything. You did an amazing job of making sure to keep it fair and allowing us a crack at cool stuff. I really did feel like Daylight got to do great things here - from meeting Dr. Solis to advancing his project on the spirits' language - without doing too much that the others didn't have a chance to do things. It was such a delight to push Daylight's limits and boundaries but, at the same time, I never felt like I was being pressured into anything nor felt uncomfortable on my (player) side. it felt like a natural push-and-pull between us, whenever it was mod and player or game and character, and I loved it to bits.
To the playerbase:
Thank you for giving my character a chance! Daylight's time here in the game was one of utter delight and something I will hold dearly in my heart. You guys are, of course, a big reason of why I love the game to bits. Whenever I join a game, I always feel nervous during the first few weeks of being in it, unsure of how my original characters will be taken by other players. The response he had here in the game and with you guys was wonderful and something that means a lot to me. I felt welcomed, I felt included, and I felt like everyone was having fun with each other too.
I want to take the chance to give a shout out to Daylight's close CR: Bucky and Rosinante. Jo and Rosalind. Maes and Jason. Minimus Ambus and Duster. Riku and Vanitas (the disrespect boy!!). Sora and Dr. Ingram. Dr. Solis and Postmaster General too!! You were all such joys to thread against, to have Daylight interact with because, in your characters' own way, they really did have an influence in Daylight's character development in the game. They had a hand in changing him in subtle but significant ways and, looking back, I know he wouldn't be the character he currently is if not for you guys reaching out to me and giving Day a chance. I'd love to keep you all on my timeline to keep chatting if that's something you're okay with. I hope to be in a game with you guys again in the near future but, if that won't be happening anytime soon, please know that your characters meant the world to mine.
Agian - I want to thank you all for everything about this game. It was a wonderful and wild experience that I will never forget and look back on with great fondness. I wish you all to have the best roleplay karma when it comes to finding new games or PSLs and actual karma for real-life situations that we're all dealing with at the moment. Please stay safe and healthy and take care. It's an honour to call you all gamemates for In the Night.

This has been the best game I've ever had the pleasure to be a part of. When I left game rp over a year and a half ago, I thought I was very much done, but ITN has been such a great creative experience for me that I do not regret jumping back into the game space at all. ITN is so blessed to have such a friendly, creative and welcoming playerbase and to have been run by moderators who were welcoming, encouraging and were interested in listening and adapting.
This has been a very fun and fulfilling experience, and ITN has been such a unique game. I've really enjoyed being a part of it and feeling like my character had a way to impact the plot, even if it was just taking a bloody rock from one NPC to the other.
It has been such a pleasure to play in this world, to get to play Kol again after years of not writing him, and to meet new people and experience different dynamics and game mechanics. Thanks for being a very positive game experience for me and thank you Mippins for cultivating a very positive game experience.
One more shirtless icon for old time's sake. ♥

Everyone else, thanks for putting up with Vanitas' crap for a year!!! I know he isn't an easy character to play off and I really appreciated you all prepared to play ball with me and let me develop him as a character. I had a lot of complex interactions here that couldn't have been had without you lot.

It feels like such a shallow thing to say, really. But I mean it, you've been nothing but amazing to me through the whole game and I am so grateful for how well you've modded this game and how chill you've been.
And my fellow players? Man, I am going to miss you. All of you. Small or long stories between our characters, you've all been amazing. Putting up with Quentin being, well, Quentin.

to all the other mods -- thank you for the part you played in this amazing game! I so enjoyed this experience and it was a terrifying first step back into roleplay after a long time away. you are such a huge part of this game and I'm so grateful for your effort and your time.
To the players -- this is what I'll miss the most. We were such a warm, welcoming group... and I felt great about the c r I have built here. I have never felt alone or unwanted in this game and we made such a good unit and I'm going to miss writing with all of you most of all. You helped my characters slowly move on their journey and you accepted a character that I was scared nobody would care about. I'm so grateful for that.
