There are quite a few close calls as Sora throws himself into the protection of the village, which is lacking hands and leaves him with plenty to do. In his attempts to protect the Library and the Librarian, he will find the waters starting to creep into the building and as he helps to shepherd the Librarian to higher ground, using a bookcase to try and make it to higher ground. While he is able to get them to safety, the bookcase will creak and collapse as the water softens the old glue that was holding it together. Sora will fall with a splash and land hard, bruising a couple ribs as he tumbles into the water.
However, the Librarian will reach out to offer him a hand to the (relative) safety of the upstairs, and in their appreciation for his valiant rescue, will offer one of the many dusty, ragged veils they wear to help dry him and keep him warm until he's ready to face the elements again. It is admittedly thin fabric and there might be a few holes in it, but sometimes it is the thought that counts.
