EVENT INFO: HUNGER AND THIRST

EVENT INFO: HUNGER AND THIRST
the basics
On September 19th, forest spirits from beyond the town venture cautiously to meet these people they've heard so much about. Will they become new allies, or are they here to invade? What can you learn from them, and what will they learn about you?
the details
Our upcoming event, Hunger and Thirst, will feature two types of prompts for interacting with these distant cousins of the forest spirits everyone in town already knows, loves, and sometimes fears.
Firstly, there will be a couple of general prompts for how the spirits may act around all of you, whether that's cautious, mischeivous, or downright aggressive - and as with similar prompts before, you are free to control the spirits as you like for these threads as they interact with you and whoever else you are tagging. As a reminder, typical forest spirits can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, wear a variety of masks on their faces, and generally have an intelligence level roughly equivalent to that of a pokemon: above that of most animals, but still somewhat simplistic. The new spirits, of course, are outsiders - they haven't seen people in a very long time or perhaps ever, and are prone to eating furniture, stealing items, and pulling very hard on your face to see if it's actually attached.
As part of these general prompts, there will be a specific header for you to hold threads under if you want mod-controlled spirits to drop in and out of threads. These will still not be direct one-on-one threads with spirits, but it means you and your thread partner(s) are open to some surprise visitors outside your control. If you do not want hostile interactions, you will be able to request that. And likewise, if you want a fight, you can absolutely say so!
The second prompt type, however, is essentially a memory share event from a different angle than usual. Many of the spirits hold back their interactions with the townspeople entirely, waiting at the periphery of the forest. The local spirits make it clear for them that what they seek is an offering. Give them something meaningful and they will share with you a fragment of what they remember from their own past. Who and what are the spirits, where do they come from, and what do they want? Some of these questions might finally be answered as the puzzle pieces all begin to fall into place.
On September 30th, will the spirits retreat back into the forest, or will they stay? Will they make Beacon safer or will there be new threats around every corner? This outcome will depend on how these outsiders are treated - and you can be sure the local spirits will have their thoughts and reactions after all of this as well.β’β’β’
Additionally, players are welcome to use this post for OOC event plotting! In fact, please do, as not everyone in the game has access to each other's plurks! If you'd like, you can use the small form below to kickstart your plotting plans:
