i craft my words to fit inside your head, because no one listens to the dead.
It's been a bloody, treacherous handful of days. Characters have been trapped in the mines and have found that they are a gory wreckage of the Wild Hunt that used to call it home. Through exploring the mine interior, characters have come to realize the Wild Hunt began to struggle greatly after the flood, and as they began to run out of supplies the group turned on each other with some determined to continue their long-term goals through fighting for survival while others insisted on accepting and even enforcing the resolution that had come to them - all of them.
Worse yet, attracted by the struggle, a group of green-eyed spirits entered the mines through a supposedly defunct exit chute in the dead tunnels. Led by an older green-eye, one noted to have six eyes, a mix of Hunt members and forest spirts were forced to consume the dead bodies of both humans and spirits alike. Many of the Wild Hunt members who had survived their earlier conflicts died. Others were forcefully turned into spirits, and became violent and feral through the green-eyes' manipulations.
Subsequently, when the people from Beacon came to explore and were trapped, some of these spirits were killed. It is hard to say if they would ever have recovered, or if this was the only way to deal with them in the name of survival. As it was, characters made the choice to put down spirits when needed to save their own lives, reducing the total number of spirits in the mines.
Thanks to Javert who located a map, characters were able to locate the exit route that was bound to be their salvation. However, fighting their way through the bloodied halls forced them to encounter some of the newly-turned spirits and green-eyes, as well as the six-eyed green-eyed monster, both imposing in size and highly intelligent in actions. Characters can enter for injury rolls here. With some of the spirit numbers thinned, the newly-born green-eyed spirits had fewer other spirits to command and fight back with. However, in the battle for escape, the six-eyed creature amassed even more strength from the fear, misery, and despair that grew so palpable in the mines — and a seventh eye opened in the unblinking row across its features. It fought viciously before managing to escape out of the mines and into the darkness of the forest.
Characters are free to return to Beacon, to further explore the mines in threads in the event post, to thread out this final escape in that post or in your own logs (and feel free to NPC spirits as needed in those threads), and/or to simply try and recover from the experience of the mines. However, they should not forget that the seven-eyed creature still lingers in the dark... and it seems to be getting stronger.

tw: gore
During the last push to break out of the tunnels and make it to the surface, Javert is separated briefly from the group by one of the green-eyed spirits, which leads him astray by projecting sounds of the fight and images of his friends down the wrong corridors. When he realizes he's been misled he turns, and the spirit launches at him and pins him to the ground. Lining its abdomen are eight pairs of small extra limbs with bladelike fingers, which jab and slash, piercing and slicing through his clothing. These lacerations are mostly minor, but the black gore that coats them, much like what he's seen in the buckets and hallways, burns into his skin, making him briefly nauseous.
Sensing its opportunity, the spirit's jaws immediately seek to clamp onto his face, but Javert strikes upward with his knife, lodging it through the creature's mouth and into its head. In shock, one of its bladed hands thrusts straight through Javert's abdomen, punching all the way to the ground.
The green-eyed spirit's body spasms abruptly, violently, before falling still. Javert will have to decide whether to pull its arm out of him, or let the spirit's corpse dissipate while that arm is still punched through his stomach - there are pros and cons to each option, so let us know which he chooses. But the green-eyed spirit moves no further, and Javert will be able to regroup with the others, however the massive internal trauma will absolutely require quick medical attention and lots of rest in order to recover.

For a week after escaping the mines, Javert will cycle through bouts of nausea and fever, and a deep longing to find and serve the seven-eyed creature once he's well enough to walk. Of course, likely by the time he's actually well enough to walk he won't want to anymore - but he'll sure remember how important it felt to find the green-eyed spirit and do its violent bidding.
