Part I

On March 20, the green-eyed spirits attack! Characters will be taken at random out to a location in East Beacon, where the spirits have a few surprises planned for them. Meanwhile, the rest of the town bands together to rescue them, aided by the Wild Hunt, a faction who's finally decided to officially reveal themselves.

Part II

The Wild Hunt is here! For the next few days, they'll be helping out around town in a variety of ways, from field medicine to general lessons on how to survive when one finds themselves in a small community. Their leader also has a few pieces of advice to offer . . .

Part I: March 20-22

On March 20, characters will be kidnapped! These characters will be taken to the medical center and spend three days being experimented upon by the green-eyed spirits for purposes unknown. There seems to be some kind of reasoning behind it, though, and characters will have plenty of time to discuss their theories between experiments.

Luckily, on March 21, someone is here to help! The mysterious faction a few people encountered last month are finally here in the open. The Wild Hunt are a large group of reset survivors from days past who now live out in the mines. Though they normally keep to themselves, they're eager to help now, spurred on by both their leader and the large-scale efforts of the spirits.

The Hunt has numbers on their side, as well as tactics and information, and will eagerly help the characters enact a successful rescue plan. By March 22, they'll lead characters to the medical center over in East Beacon, helping them storm the place and rescue their friends.

• Much like our Sandman event, characters can be part of one of two roles: either kidnapped or rescuer.


• Kidnapped characters can expect a great of pain and torture: they'll be subjected to nearly three full days of experiments. These experiments will be player-run, meaning you guys can play them out as you see fit! Experiments will include things like blood and gore, being force-fed certain unpleasant things, or being subjected to hallucinations. Players are free to pick and choose what they'd like to play with.


• More information about where the kidnapped characters will be taken will be revealed when the event log goes up. We'll be doing a location discovery post after the event.


• Kidnapped characters will be held together and have plenty of "downtime", so to speak, in order to thread out interactions. Although kidnapped characters and rescuers will obviously be separated, there's no need for a limitation on who can thread with whom.


• Rescuer characters, on the other hand, get to play hero! Working with the Wild Hunt, they'll spend half a day learning how to successfully mount an attack before storming the medical center. They'll be trained in short-term tactics and armed, so they'll have everything they need in order to fight well.


• Rescuers' success is an inevitability. How nice! Aided by the Wild Hunt, the town absolutely gets their kidnapped friends back. That said, it takes them three days to do so. We'll be giving you guys prompts that take place over the first part of the event to give you a rough sense of time scale.


• Please sign up below for whichever role you'd like by Wednesday, March 18, at 11:59 PM EST! Kidnapped characters must sign up or will default to rescuer, but we'd also like a headcount of active participants on the rescuing side!

Part II: March 23-26

The Wild Hunt is sticking around! For a bit, anyway. For the next four days, they'll be helping players out on any number of handy projects. They're friendly, if not a little rough and tumble, but they seem to have a particular message they want to pass on to the Beaconites while they help them out. In addition, their leader will be around, ready to both answer any questions and discuss a few things with characters.

• The Wild Hunt will be explained more fully in the event log, but OOCly, this is not your only chance to interact with them! They'll be around in the mines after the event, able to be contacted.


• Much like the Night Market, the Wild Hunt's general interactions can be handwaved! They offer a great deal of practical help, and are willing to pitch in and teach skills for the greater good.


• A lot of their lore and backstory will be revealed in the event log, so stay tuned!


• We will be putting up two separate logs for parts I and II. That said, characters are free to interact regardless of part and role, given how short the kidnapping is.

For rescuers: Is the Wild Hunt tagging along for the actual rescue, and if so, are they gonna be mostly a team we can assume is present for things, or are they going to want to join player-formed teams etc?

For kidnappees: Are there any limitations on what the spirits do that we should keep in mind for what we want to play with? And if we want to have our characters try and escape/help/heal one another (obviously ultimately futile, but of course our poor victims don't know that ICly), should we determine how that fails/how the spirits react/how they might retaliate to shut that shit down? Also, logistically speaking, are the kidnappees going to be kept grouped up / away from one another?

I'll go for a good mix of psychological and physical torture because why not.

And wow come at me rescuers too! He's going to need some people to help him recover both physically and mentally. He probably won't take well to a bunch of guests all the time afterward but if a few people could stick close he'd appreciate it even if he doesn't say so.

plans: He's a rescuer! Definitely one of those shitheads who will go charging into the darkness on his own. There's no need to actually stop him since he's got one of his minders on that (thanks Misty), but I'm open to interaction on that front.

Once he can get some sense knocked into him he'll probably try to reach out to closer/distant CR to see who's still around and and check in to keep himself busy. He wants to be very very busy!

His lantern will briefly turn grande green for the first part of the event, so his other will be available to speak to! More details on Skyler are on Sora's cr meme post, but if necessary, here's an opt out post. I don't see myself tagging out with him too much, but if I do, I'll definitely give a heads up if I feel like it's necessary!

Regular flavor Sora is available to talk and for cool-down human interaction after the event as well!

Soldat is getting their dumb self kidnapped and tortured! This is actually really familiar territory for them, so while it will be awful, they're at least... kinda... used to it??? I imagine the green-eyes are interested in him given he's killed one of them before (think he's the only one who has?), and helped Daylight try to communicate with them, only to then cut them up in their escape. Available for protecting of others, commiseration, and patching up in a first-aid kind of manner.

Stone is rescuing. Because clearly they need a big winged guy to carry kidnapees out, right? Hit me up for team-ups or if you want him in particular stomping a spirit to get your character out.

plans: Masaomi is being kidnapped! He has seen some shit, sure, but he is still a dumb teenage brat with no formal training in any discipline whatsoever. He is super not prepared for experimentation or torture at all. He will be trying his damnedest to put on a brave face, but it's going to crack like two seconds in. Oh gosh, come at me guys, he's toast. Help him, and get the grand prize of a completely honest and vulnerable Masaomi.

He's definitely going to be hallucinating his ex-girlfriend Saki as the one torturing him (and potentially others). Because he's the reason she was tortured back in Ikebukuro, and karma's a bitch. This is going to be super cathartic for him after the fact, but while the event's going on, it means Masaomi is not going to fight back against the green-eyed spirits. I really, really want to play with this, so if your character wouldn't stand for this shit, hit me up.

I have no plans for physical torture methods/effects just yet, so I'm down to tie them in with other people's plans if anyone is looking for something specific.

notes: My schedule's pretty up in the air right now. As far as I know, I do still have to go into work this week, but I work at a glorified food court, so. Who knows.

plans: Hello this will be the first event I actually participate in and I’m very excited. Theon will get kidnapped, because being kidnapped/held captive is sort of a common thread in his life. Torture is also a newly common thread, but he was spared that by way of his canon point. He’ll start off by literally laughing it all off, but he’ll crack pretty early in. He’ll definitely be subject to the hallucinations. I’d like to have him hallucinate his father, his bff Robb Stark, and his actual canonical torturer, Ramsay Bolton but we’ll see how I actually feel when I write the top level.

IDK SOUNDS FUN. Might not make him believe he's actually dead, though.

plans: Kidnapped. I do not have many super specific plans except that I do plan to have Naminé reach out using her powers to her close CR. Right now, I only think this is Sora and the spirits (according to the mods) will likely retaliate against her.

I plan to have heavy body torture and things like that because Naminé hasn't had a body for very long and is kind of used to mental anguish. So there will likely be body horror or something to that nature. Like I said, no firm plans on the torture end so if anyone wants to find her curled up in a ball I am game. Naminé will be battered but likely still be a little ray of sunshine because that is what she is like.

I'd love for some after event hurt comfort so come at me with thoughts and desires!

notes: Naminé can alter memories and can honestly help with those tortured if they're having a hard time by blocking out bits and pieces of things if someone wants to explore that. Otherwise I don't plan to have her use her memory powers.

Maes Hughes is in the kidnapped group. I am waiting to hear from mods as to how to handle his ability to teleport, but most likely it will involve making him really sick somehow or just turned around. I will probably dip into a little of each torture, but focus primarily on hallucinations and blood/gore. I probably won't go TOO crazy -- but I feel like I said that last time and wound up going a little extreme anyway. I'll make sure to post warnings as necessary. Hallucinations will likely involve his wife or Envy or both -- since that's been a continued theme for Maes. If I'm feeling particularly terrible they might involve Elysia...but we'll see. Might also throw in some flashbacks/hallucination related to Ishval or some mild body-horror based on a space station Maes visited when he was with The Circle. It's really TBD.

However, when there is downtime PLEASE distract Maes with theories and plots. The man likes his puzzles and will need a distract something ELSE to focus his mind on that isn't THIS.

Obviously this means Jason Grace is being the hero everyone knows he is and is Rescuing. I have a feeling he might have to pull "rank" and try to bring people together in a kind of leadership role so that we can coordinate the rescue. Jason is used to that kind of thing, so if you are wanting someone to get your character to focus/not panic he would be a good person to interact with. I know he'll be very gung ho to save others and encouraging that we PLAN and not just RUSH IN. He's a powerhouse and if you want to see his cool powers now is the time :D He'll definitely want to check in on anyone who was kidnapped that he has close CR with for sure!

he will, most likely, be gritting his teeth and bearing it because he's remarkably used to getting his ass kicked. his take on it will be 'suck it up. pain will only make you stronger.' and i think it'd be fun for him to inadvertently boost morale with this narrative instead of it being his usual shtick of 'make everyone feel as bad as possible'

if anyone that is also kidnapped is interested in getting something out of vanitas that isn't just his regular dickishness, this is a good opportunity for that. after he's rescued he'll mostly be mia because he'll retreat to lick his wounds in private

Matt will be a rescuer ! First and foremost, he's gonna wanna make a plan. He's not the type to run in, for lack of a better word, blind. that said once the plan is made he's going full daredevil. he's gonna beat the shit out of whatever is in his way and he's gonna be really good at it, bc he has no issue seeing in the dark. he's available to help drag someone out of the hospital or even stitch them up! who wants a blind nurse? he's here for you.

For Gregor: He's gonna get got. I've decided he's too comfy in Beacon and he's used to being hard to fuck with, so let's change that! Of course, that said, violence and gross eating stuff won't... really do a whole lot to him, mentally. But the hallucinations are where it's at. He'll also be pretty miffed that he can't just fix his injuries by dying but uhhhh don't put it past him to try. I haven't quite decided yet if that happens but I'M CONSIDERING IT. So CW for that, I guess, temporary suicide.

Outside of torture times, he'll be doing his best to keep up morale. A lot of these "experiments" will feel old hat to him, so like, it's fine everyone. It's fine. You got this. Expect a lot of pep talks and attempted distractions. I currently have no solid plans for specific rescuing, but if you're interested in that, lmk!

For Will: Against all logic and good sense, Will is going to be a rescuer. I didn't realize until now that the rescuers were going to have to fight so this'll be interesting, and I look forward to trying to figure out how to write Will in action scenes. Does he really want to participate in this? No. But half the population dying horribly is probably bad, and there are a few kidnapped folks that he actually kind of maybe likes.

That said the man has never held a gun in his life (or any other weapon besides a knife that he also doesn't know what to do with). If anyone would like to attempt to teach him fight stuff that could be fun. He'll whine the whole time it'll be great(?). Otherwise he'll mostly stick to coordinating things and keeping up communications, and will mostly only fight to defend himself if he has to. He is absolutely not SWAT material here, this is for the best, trust me.

notes: Nothing for Will aside from the usual "he's very unpleasant and mean". For Gregor I expect there to be gore and blood and stuff, and he will be alarmingly chill with it. They do both have permissions posts on their journals as well as info pages, if you need or want to know more!

plans: Daylight is going to get kidnapped! The event is, ironically enough, kicking off on his birthday so I thought I should make it a tradition of him getting kidnapped on his birthday every Earth year now. At first, he'll do his best to support the others during the next couple of days, knowing the others will come and rescue them! He'll be doing what he can to keep spirits up and taking care of them to the best of his abilities by mending wound and speaking with them.

His tortures will everything that's been offered - hallucinations, force-feeding, and blood & gore - and, by the end of it all, he'll be. Really traumatised by the whole series of events. Especially since I'll be having him hallucinate his family and friends all jeering/mocking him for being so weak and needing to die already since that's all he was made to do. Despite it all- He will do what he can to aid the rescuers when they come, trying to put up some fight and help them out. Definitely open to recusing plans so feel free to hit me up!

plans: Alisaie is going to get kidnapped. I'm mostly planning on subjecting her to bloody torture with a side of hallucination, please excuse the horrified reaction to transformation no one else can see. I'm definitely interested in having her bond with other captives, and she'd absolutely be up for trying to plan an ultimately futile breakout.
