ENDGAME COORDINATION PLOTTING
Greetings, everyone! We're down to the final stages of this story, here, and I'm so glad we all get to participate in it. Please read everything over, and please weigh in on every aspect that you think your character might help in, or that you personally are interested in. The more input you all give, the more we can make this endgame into something we're all proud of.
Below are several headers with different decisions that can be made. If you think of something that's not listed, don't be afraid to suggest it, but what's presented here are the most common ideas and solutions we've put forward in plotting posts and in threads so far.
1. DEALING WITH THE WORLD EATER
A. KILL IT The most popular suggestion so far is to kill it, probably by use of a bomb. Weaver has offered to help construct it, and in the past has mentioned she could also build a larger drone to deploy a larger warhead. But to do so, she needs materials. Plutonium is on the top of her list, but building supplies would also be appreciated. Because of the huge energy requirements involved in getting specialty items via the portal, she would prefer that things already in Beacon be gathered before everyone resorts to ordering stuff, but that's always an option if it needs to be.
B. LEAVE IT Is there anyone who is firmly against trying to kill it? Is there any character who absolutely does not want to be involved, who would prefer it be left to consume the world, who would help the green-eyes or the World Eater itself?
C. EJECT IT In order to try to send the World Eater away, it would have to be lured into a portal, and the portal would have to be made much, much larger through some method. Is anyone pursuing this strategy and if so, how might it be accomplished?
2. AND IF THAT FAILS, OR IF YOU SUCCEED?
A. A number of characters have indicated that at the slightest suggestion of failure, they're ready to evacuate themselves and possibly others through the portal. This might mean that they could not participate in activities on the surface, or that their participation might be limited, depending on how close to the portal room you want them to be. Is anyone likely to sit out a fight (or whatever else ensues) entirely in order to get ready to bail?
B. Of course, if you succeed, there will be time for everyone who survives to do as they like. For those who wish to leave, someone does have to stay behind and operate the portal, sending people on their way and closing it afterward. This is too complex a task to leave to the forest spirits. Is anyone willing to stay behind and send their friends off to future travels? Does anyone just want to hang out in Beacon for life anyway, help rebuild the town and the farm and make it something they're proud of having saved?
...
In the comments below, please summarize your thoughts (and your character's thoughts) on what you'd like to see in the upcoming handful of remaining months. Feel free to respond to each other, to plot out ideas OOCly, and to take as much time as you need. Elements from this post will be used to build the last event in March, so this will be open for commenting for the entire next month, and it's fine if ideas change between now and then based on explores or threads - but if it isn't here by the end of February I may not be able to account for it in the final stages of endgame.
As before, you will see a LFG header for organizing explore groups, and a BATON PASS header if you have an idea that your character isn't likely to see through but that someone else might be interested in taking up. Otherwise, please look for the appropriate header (1 or 2) so we can keep plot elements organized.
And as always, please speak up if you have questions or suggestions! I'm here to make this as collaborative as possible.

- Who would like to be involved in building or deploying the bomb?
- Will you have Weaver build a drone to send it with, or is there another way to launch/fire/drop it?
- Is anyone intending to make more of that World Eater resistance potion?
- What precautions might be taken? Are there other planning elements that need to be considered?
- Are there any explores that still need to be done to accomplish any of this? Feel free to put together a group and submit an explore, and I will aim to wrap them up in one single comment so we can get everyone caught up.

QUESTIONS
1. DEALING WITH THE WORLD EATER

Stone wants to bite another WE, he felt like he helped a lot last time in keeping it distracted. This time maybe with one of those potions that's supposed to make you more resistant to its aura? They still have those, right? But he's willing to die again if it helps. He's also willing to totally drop the bomb on the WE from above, again even if it involved him dying in the process. Why bother with a drone when you have a dragon amirite?
So that's 2 IC votes for fighting it now, with another bomb. Soldat DOES still want to do something to get rid of the whole species permanently, or at LEAST thin out the herd, but they don't have time or materials right now to do that.

The explore at the power station (which he is a part of) hasn't wrapped up yet, but in the past, a vision suggested that someone stationed there oversaw the nuclear launch attempt on the first World Eater, so he'll likely soon have more information to share with everyone on exactly what happened and what they might be able to learn from it. If for some reason his group doesn't manage to retrieve that information (there are hostile spirits in the area) then someone else may want to go seek it out.
If they can't find a long-distance launch option he's all for the drone and will do whatever it takes to protect Weaver or whoever is flying it, and stand by to fight if that doesn't finish it off. He'd tell people to run and get to the portal to escape before he does, and would even go as far as to distract the World Eater away from them if needed. He sure does want to live, and would like to think these risks would be calculated, not over-sacrificial, because his long-term goal is to spread word to other worlds about the things that might be coming for them so they can deal with the threat on a larger scale. However, I am open to him dying if it comes down to it, because he always puts other people first.

He's a fighter, yes, there is no keeping him out of this in any sense, but he knows the bomb and any deployment methods are too far outside his realm of expertise for him to be of any use besides finding materials, notably the plutonium. So when it comes to hands-on stuff, he may be more likely to help in figuring out the portal option, to the point of suggesting somehow raising the station so that there's less work trying to get the World Eater to the target.
We are not yeeting the emperor unless it somehow becomes literally the only remaining workable method of deploying a nuke, which I doubt but lmao we've been joking so long.......

Ardyn is NOT in favor of killing the World Eater. He sees this world as a tired, darkness-ridden beast that should probably be fully consumed and put out of its misery. He's not so motivated that he'd team up with it but he doesn't want to help kill it either. If it happens to get in his way he may attack it and try to infect it with the Starscourge... but he refuses to have any part in the nukes plan.

That said he would definitely sacrifice himself for everyone else even if that means closing the portal and staying here alone, or being a distraction while someone else pilots a drone. He would want others to be able to evacuate, but he wouldn't do that himself so he can be as far from the portal as needed.
Currently he thinks Weaver's plan of making another, bigger, bomb is the best bet and he's willing to do whatever it takes to make this happen. Depending on how large the World Eater is he could theoretically freeze it, but if it's huge (larger than a city block) he might also overextend his powers doing that and knock himself out - which means he wouldn't be able to fight so that'd be a last resort.
2. AND IF THAT FAILS, OR IF YOU SUCCEED?

Soldat, if it fails, will want to flee to Helix to see about a more permanent solution, if it's possible. They'll deal with the creeping horrors of the place if they've gotta. (They may try to insist Misty go down with the bonfire bits early, because they've lost enough family already, but I doubt Misty will do it :| )
If it succeeds? Stone has no plans for that. Feel free to let his lantern drown, because he STILL expects to die even if it succeeds, and lantern recovery in a lake will probably be hard. Soldat will wanna continue the good fight against other WEs and like. Go find Rye mother's field and start sowing it. Bring in some goats and cows and chickens. Do the farm life in between WE search-and-destroy.

If someone else strongly wants to go first, though, he won't stop them (unless it's Law or Will, you two don't get to take risks like that in his opinion). He would be willing to stay behind and operate the portal for people, but he'd have to be given a very clear set of instructions on how to do that because tech is still really not his forte, even though he has learned a lot.
Also I have a feeling certain others wouldn't let him stay back anyway, but. He'd offer.

If the plan is a failure Ardyn intends to stick around. If it succeeds he is willing to stay behind to operate the portal. He should have met with oblivion already. There is nothing for him back home and he doesn't feel like dragging out his long suffering existence in new worlds. If the world surrounding Beacon seems determined to wake up and live again he'll linger in this world to protect it from World Eaters until his lantern finally breaks.

Assuming the plan works and the World Eater is dealt with, he'd want to go back to his world. Death in Mortal Kombat doesn't work like death anywhere else and his fellow Grandmaster just happens to be able to teleport around the Netherrealm where are the dead are.
So that's convenient.
If they fail he'll probably insist on dying in the fight somehow because that's how he do. Unless anyone wants to forcibly drag him away.

Right about now Cao Pi's probably not being very picky, since they have so few hands left. Anyone's allowed just remember the danger.
I need to work with lauren to get some kind of explore or log up asap, that much I know.

Re: Potion Time
Soldat is happy to help hunting for supplies, but they can't go into the lab to do any work on it personally.
