welcome to in the night.

We're so glad to have you! Feel free to use this post to introduce yourselves to the rest of the game. If you've already posted an OOC intro in this comm, feel free to repost/link it here if you like! We'll be doing a mod-posted OOC intro like this for future app rounds, as well.

If you haven't heard back about your app yet, don't worry! We're hard at work processing the remaining apps, and we'll have all acceptance notices/questions out by tomorrow morning. We also won't be posting the IC intro log until all acceptance notices have been sent out. For more info on all this, you can check out our mod plurk about it.

Not sure where to begin? Letting other players know your name, pronouns, who you play, and how to contact you is a good starting point. And, of course, shitposting with gifs and memes is always good too. Welcome aboard!

sup folks! i'm laws. i bring to you billy russo from netflix's the punisher. he is going to be taken from the end of season 2, so he isn't in the best head space right now. you can find more deets on him here.

but i guess i can provide a quick cheat sheet here! (spoiler alert for s2 stuff)

billy is suffering from both retrograde amnesia and ptsd. he has 3 years of memories missing from his mind and he is plagued by a lot of flashbacks and night terrors, so to say the least, he doesn't sleep much. he has trouble controlling his emotions, so he can be very volatile and violent if triggered. the memories he does retain is back when he was still a usmc lieutenant in special forces. thanks to the not-so-helpful guidance of his therapist, he has a lot of misunderstandings and misinterpretations of the events that followed.

he is pretty darn angry, confused and afflicted. luckily, he is good at compartmentalizing and he isn't unstable to the point where he can't interact with other people soundly — at least as long as they don't push him.

he is going to need time to cope with his death and everything that had led up to that point, so he may self-isolate a bit. he'll still connect with others, but for the most part, he'll keep his distance. considering he is aware of his own mental state, he'll consider it the safest move for everyone around him. that being said, i do want him to heal and grow, so hopefully he'll be able to make some meaningful relationships down the line. he isn't an inherently bad guy and he'll want to redeem himself now that he's, y'know, dead. it'll just take a lot of work.

he is going to be wearing a mask for a period of time. it won't be a permanent fixture though and he doesn't have much issue taking it off. without krista's guidance, it's sort of his safety net at this point. i also think he'll be living elsewhere in town, so you got -1 competitor for a room at the tavern.



ANYWAY, i'm not the fastest tagger during the weekday (and in general if i'm gonna be 100% honest), but i'll try to slam into things as regularly as i can. i'm a compsci major so my studies tend to come first. the weekend is def more my time to shine though. if you wanna hit me up for plots, you can either shoot me a pm or comment below! i'm excited to play with all of you. :)

p.s. i do have a disco, but it isn't my preferred method of contact. you can feel free to ask for it in pm if you wanna do some extensive plotting and it's more convenient for you. otherwise, i prefer to stick to pm.

I absolutely love Billy and I'm excited to see one from s2 c:

If you need a character that's very chill and calm and also military for him to decompress a bit around Gene would probably be a good candidate for that! He's a ww2 medic that is very non-judgmental and I think he could be a good influence c:

i would love for him to meet gene! he is still very much in army bill mode, so i think he would find a lot of comfort and camaraderie in meeting a fellow soldier. :'| he will definitely be more receptive to him anyway.

it sounds like his personality will be v good for bill too all things considered. he needs to be pointed back in the right direction after all he's been through lbr and a calming influence is exactly what he needs. someone chill.

Hi! I'm Kait and mostly canonblind, but from what I've absorbed about Billy through general nerdculture, it seems like he and Arya might have some similar darknesses/killing related issues that it might be fun to explore in-game. They might be one of the few cr opportunities here that could actually bring out the negative traits in the two of them (without potentially needing negative cr, if that makes any sense?), so if you'd be up for exploring something complicated and dark, I'm already signed up!

eyyy, i'm canon blind to got, but i'm def open to bill and arya learning more about each other and exploring their dynamic in game. if they do have similar issues, it would be interesting to see how they'll potentially influence and/or affect one another.

I am completely canonblind but Billy sounds awesome and I think these two together could be really interesting -- there are some definite parallels I'm seeing already and I'd love to plot! Or just hit him up on the intro log and see where things go.

i'm pretty open to either options! we can see what the intro log is going to be about and then maybe plot around it? get our ducks in a row on how these two will meet etc.

It'll probably be fun learning about them through RP but right off the bat: Wash is also a marine with memory related trauma and works to heal and grow and redeem himself after a villain arc. Obviously they need to bond.

That sounds like a good plan, I can hit you again when the intro log goes up?

man, they really do need to meet. billy is very open to befriending fellow soldiers, so he'll definitely be receptive to him. hopefully, they'll be good influences on each other (or maybe not). either way, i look forward to them getting to know each other!

If you're interested I would definitely be keen to continue their thread from the TDM? Given her own... unusual history lets say, she's actually pretty good at not pushing too hard / respecting boundaries while still being a regular presence.
