the basics
Hello hello, dreamers! You hungry little hippos have munched on one thing or another from the feast, and now you're unconscious and tromping around in what appears to be Beacon of the past. Great! Let's skip the preamble, since you've already sat through the November gameplan and the event sign-up sheet, and maybe you even read the big ol' explanation of dreamer stuff that came in response to a question. Point is, check out those links for a refresher if you need it!
the details
On November 16, the forest spirits will set up a massive harvest feast in town, and your characters will be partaking, falling into a food coma, and Nancy-Drewing around in past-Beacon dreamland. Characters have been sorted into groups of three and assigned to a single location in past Beacon, which is where they will spend the entire event. See the tables in the next section for your group assignments, as well as which mod your group will be working with! Once you're done being impatient and skipping ahead to peep the groups, come back and check out this bullet list for details on how exactly this side of the event is going to work:
- Each group will embark on a mod-led investigation thread where they will be able to explore their location. If anyone's familiar with how murdergame investigations are typically run, this will follow the same format, although the threads will be longer, designed to last a number of days (oocly) instead of wrapping up quickly. Here's a couple examples of a murdergame investigation just so y'all can see the format in action. Ignore the content! The structure is what's important! See how the characters are checking out the area ICly while also receiving mod responses as part of the tag order? That's what you can expect from our investigative threads. They're a lot like explores, but it's an actual IC thread as opposed to an OOC discussion between players and mods.
- These investigative threads may run for the entire duration of the event, although some groups may finish early. This should give all the groups ample time to complete their investigation without needing to rush. Each group is limited to their assigned location in the dream, which allows each group to set their own pace without having to worry about keeping pace with other players.
- Time is not to be trusted in dreamland... Meaning, yes, your characters will be trapped in their assigned dream location for the duration of the event. That's, like, two whole weeks! But, how long it feels to your characters is totally up to you. Though threading out the investigations may take the full duration of the event, ICly, it may just take a couple of hours. Maybe you and your group would like to then play with the idea of your characters having to just deal with being in their location for two weeks after they're done exploring, or maybe you want to skip that nonsense and say they wake up immediately after completing the investigation. Maybe you want to do something in between? Up to you!
- On that note, you're welcome to do your own threads outside of the mod-led investigation! It's not required, but say you want to play out your group being stuck for the full duration of the event? Have at it. Just keep in mind they will not be allowed to travel to different locations within the dream, nor will they be able to wake up. They can't communicate with anyone outside of their dreamer group!
- To keep investigation threads moving, we'll be pushing for one round of tags per day, meaning that everyone in the thread will be asked to tag at least once per day. If you aren't able to meet that bar for any reason, please let your group know so that we can either skip you or adjust the tag order! If a player falls out of contact for more than 24 hours, their character will be skipped in the tag order until they resurface. We do ask that everyone do their best to remain active during the event, especially in terms of OOC communication, but we fully expect to have to shuffle things here and there. It happens, and it's not a huge deal! Just let us know what's up. 👍
- OOC group organization/communication will all happen through this page in the comments below! That said, if an entire group agrees to coordinate in a private plurk or in a group DM on discord, we're happy to move to one of those venues instead. Not everyone has or prefers those forms of communication though, so the default is OOC comments on this page.
- The key to uncovering plot info is to just engage with the thread! Don't worry if you/your character isn't a super sleuth, or if you've never done this before, or if you get stumped and aren't sure what to try next, or if your character gets injured/rattled and isn't on their top detectiving game... All you need to worry about is staying IC and having your character explore and react accordingly. We won't let you miss any huge details, and while we will let you miss smaller stuff, the key to finding everything in an area isn't necessarily just to win at puzzles. Roll with the punches, and you'll do just fine.
- And finally, any injuries/death that happens in dreamland will not be permanent! After the event, all dreamers will wake up in the same state they fell asleep in... Probably? It does, in part, depend on what the defenders get up to. Here's hoping they can protect the town!

I'll do my best to be around for one tag a day for this event since I'm GMT +8 and I'm open to wherever you guys want to communicate/hash out the most. Just let me know because if you guys want to do it on Discord, I'll need some time to quickly put together/refix a Discord roleplay account for this since the current one I have is strictly for real life + fandom activities.
So...! Daylight has a range of abilities he might be able to do - from jetpacking to communicating with technology and basically energy manipulation - in the dream world. My first impulse instinct for Daylight to do is to try to attempt to communicate with the radio tower then jetpack up to see the area for anything of interest.
From a scale of one to 'Daylight no' - How okay would Sarissa and Kol be with Daylight's attempts to communicate with the radio tower?

I'm GMT+10 or 11, whichever one is Sydney. I can tag more than once a day, although if it's a week day I'm contending with work. I have a pref. for working things out in discord just because I will get the notifs quickly, but I can do DW comments or plurk. DW comments might just take some time because I'll be on my phone!
Kol is a vampire and an Original one (which means he was one of the first ever created, y'all walking with history here!!!) at that. He's super strong, fast, durable, has great hearing and generally has been in different realms before. He also has the ability to manipulate dreams, so he might suspect they're in someone's manipulation. Maybe he can try and manipulate this one??? I have no idea. He might burn in the sun if I feel like it might add something dynamic to our thread, but otherwise, he won't turn to ash!
He's sort of sensible but can be impulsive and reckless. He holds the spirits in high regard so he won't want to piss them off. If they're in danger please let him break off a branch and beat whatever it is into a pulp. He misses being aggressive!!!

I will go ahead and say this now, I'll be unavailable most of the day November 23: my family and I are driving down to Florida to celebrate Thanksgiving and the birth of my niece. The drive isn't so long that I can't respond that night (last time we made this drive I think we got there before 8 pm Central Time), but you also never know with drive times and exhaustion. So I'll TRY to get a response in that day, but if you need to skip me that day feel free.

So far I'm thinking Aziraphale's initial reaction is going to be to try and find the exit and there will be tears if they're gone a long time I'm sorry but not that sorry
His powers include flight, dim glowing light, nerfed healing, persuasion, blessings, and miracling shit that wasn't there before. I'm not sure if he has access to these powers but he doesn't know either and he will certainly be making some attempts as necessary.
Also he doesn't need to breathe and he makes a bad canary.

Just putting out the offer that if anyone wants to handwave their character being successfully (or unsuccessfully?) protected, I at least have one character who'll be dragging some of you sleeping beauties out of the line of fire! :3 Could be a foot in the door for "hey, I didn't I sling your unconscious body over my shoulder once" CR down the line.
